The Maintenance Technician is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining and improving the overall functionality, appearance, and safety of the marina property. The technician will handle a variety of tasks including property maintenance, dock repairs, and landscaping. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple projects to ensure the marina operates smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Property Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks to ensure the marina is clean, safe, and well-maintained. This includes inspecting and repairing buildings, walkways, fencing, gates, and other structures on the property.

  • Dock Repair & Maintenance: Inspect and maintain dock systems, including floating docks, pilings, ramps, and dock hardware. Perform repairs as needed to ensure safety and usability for boat owners.

  • Landscaping & Groundskeeping: Maintain the marina's grounds by mowing, trimming, planting, and ensuring the landscaping is aesthetically pleasing and functional. Ensure proper drainage and irrigation systems are in place.

  • Handyman Projects: Manage small-scale projects that could include carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and other maintenance duties on the marina property as needed.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work complies with marina safety standards and local regulations. Report any safety concerns and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

  • Customer Service: Assist customers with their boating needs, dock maintenance, and general marina inquiries. Offer excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction.


Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training or certifications in marine repair, property maintenance, or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven experience in general maintenance, carpentry, and plumbing is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills and experience with boat engines and docking systems.
  • Ability to operate power tools and marina equipment safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of marina safety protocols and environmental regulations is an asset.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physical environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions.
  • Comfort with working around water and boating equipment.
